A country-blues band with syncopated rhythms, deep southern tempos, and poetic lyrics.
In Spring 2024 Rev Dave re-centered the band in St. John’s and he and Andrea Monro welcomed Wade Pinhorn, Doug Randell and Doug White into the fold. They immediately began work on their new album Clouds Like Buffalo which features, as well, special guests Greg Bruce, Ford Burden, Mike Herriott, Kendra Parsons, and Jordan Young. From the striking album cover by artist Jane Reagh to the vibrant horn section, this album is an enhancement of the Rev Dave and the Sin Eaters groove. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Rev. Dave Music is proud to announce the release of "Clouds Like Buffalo," the highly anticipated new album from Rev. Dave and the Sin Eaters.
Released on July 15th, 2025 "Clouds Like Buffalo" features a diversity of sounds within the Americana vein. Focussed on country music it also features sounds emanating from pop, New Orleans, and Rock and Roll.
As a whole the album follows the contours of love lost and regained through a myriad of soundscapes.
The album's title track, "Clouds Like Buffalo," is the album's first single. This soulful, Americana-infused anthem sets the tone for an album that promises to be both introspective and uplifting.
The song features a stellar horn arrangement and performance by Mike Herriott which complements its poetic, gently metaphysical lyrics. The image of fluffy buffalo shaped clouds has within it a hint of a species that suffered mass extermination in the 19th century. The song moves from a sense of Edenic unity through suffering and finally to a hope for redemption. That those three dimensions are present in love is a central theme of the whole album.

David Peddle’s earliest memories of music are being kept up at night by his father’s band rehearsing. Peddle, 60, said his father loved music, especially traditional country and classic rock bands like Creedence Clearwater Revival. Peddle added that he was heavily influenced by his dad’s taste. It was through the music his dad played, whether himself or on the radio, that showed Peddle how rock ‘n roll can blend and come together with other genres.
Since the release of their first album, Dark Water, in 2020, Rev Dave and the Sin Eaters have received three MusicNL nominations. They also recieved two ECMA nominations for their 2022 album, Beams of Love, which was nominated in both the Blues and Country Categories.
